CLASS: Nov 21st, Seasonal candle holder
A session of peaceful festive crafting in a pottery studio setting to make a tea-light or pillar candle holder decoration for your festive tables and something you'll enjoy for years ahead. Join the set date small groups (see drop down for dates and times) as an individual or buy your own private session for four (check dates with me first [email protected])
How will the session work?
š These two hour sessions are held in my studio at Thamesside studios, SE18, stood at a work bench [two sat spaces are also bookable] with easy parking and access. Studio stoneware with glaze application & kiln firing are all included. You can find directions on how to find me within the Thamesside studio community if you look at 'pages' tab on this website.
š We'll start with a brief demo of rolling, cutting, printing & construction to get bases built.
š Using a combination of modelled, impressed and stamped pieces we'll create a radiating & rotating relief of natural elements around a port carefully sized to allow a tea light or pillar candle setting when the final piece is glazed and fired. I'll have plenty of image resource and greenery to inspire and use as textural printing and also cutters & stamps but of course you are most welcome to bring your own.
š Your work will be carefully dried and then fired and glazed in your choice of deep glossy Greenwich Green or neutral white.
š You'll collect from me in time to use during seasonal celebrations.
š Workbenches are 90cms high & rolling out is best done as a stood activity if possible but two sat spaces are available at a standard table (and of course help with rolling) - do let me know so I can ensure this is ready for you.
