A large hand-built stoneware mug with my hand drawn images applied. Designed for holding cupped in two hands, whilst celebrating our local club.
Charlton Athletic first moved to The Valley in 1919. The stadium was built with the help of their fans & initially only consisted of a pitch and large earth banks, giving it the appearance of a valley. The stadium was gradually developed over the 1920's & 30's as the earth banking was turned to concrete terraces and by the construction of a covered main stand.
In the late 1930s, The Valley was one of England’s largest stadiums.
