These plates were made during C19 lockdown whilst juggling on-line classes, daily walks & shopping difficulties. We started in cold winter, bare branches and dark tones and then suddenly blossom seemed to burst from every tree. And then I had this new plum pink glaze. Gradually we got used to it all and all the while we appreciated every simple thing we could, specially in any green space.
Two smaller black clay plates with sgraffito ( lines carved) through white slip, glazed pink. These might be your special luxury for your well earned sandwich or cake at the allotment or in your garden. Sort of the same but different to each other? Just take time to sit and admire the simple things.
